market forces that drive us

The requirements placed on education organisations in Australia are immense. There are the pressures of market forces, student demands, agents to deal with but there is also the added pressures of compliance with government bodies and regulations such as the ESOS Act, CRICOS regulations, as well as the reporting requirements of NCVER, AVETMISS to contend with.

We believe that changes in regulations as well as market forces and changing industry trends are the key drivers for a vocational or language institution today. We respond to each of these with our unique and flexible approach. We spend a lot of time with some of our key clients and they help drive change within TEAMS and its engine of business rules and interfaces. We also spend a fair bit of our support staff's time (around 30% at the moment) in R & D and improving what TEAMS does. This includes changes and additions in reports, bug fixes, visual improvements, new wizards etc.

We have a rapid release cycle (presently twice a month) which allows us to get the changes to our clients quickly. For a lot of our updates we cater for a mix of both CRICOS as well as domestic AVETMISS related changes. As the regulations change and new demands are placed by legislation, we are in touch with various government departments and get our interpretations validated. We also spend a fair bit of time in file format and other product testing.

We take all our client requests through our support site and they also get logged via emails and phone calls by clients that like a more direct approach. :) After the requests are logged we review them. We then question the application of the request, its implications on other parts of the system and what we can do to have it as a complete item. If we find that the request is applicable to the industry as a whole we do it without any charge and we prioritise it in our development queue. We are quite unique in that regard compared to a lot of other software companies. We develop on our client's request and because we do it without charge we encourage rapid growth and development. To give an example, in one quarter at the behest of an intensive few clients, we developed over 70 new reports.

We thank all our clients who spend a fair bit of their time and knowledge to help us understand their processes. We love this industry and our key support staff are passionate about what they do. Our passion is shown in our client retention rate (currently > 95%).  We look forward to growing our presence and our contribution to the education industry
